I have been participating in St. Baldricks since i was 15. My friend and I organized St. Baldricks at our high school, Victor J Andrew High School, and I have been volunteering or donating since. A lot of people shave their heads because they have had someone in their life affected by cancer. That's not the case for me. I am fortunate enough to say that my life, family, and friends have not been affected by cancer. But because I was so involved during high school, it became a part of me. I was able to go to different cancer centers and see the kids getting the money. I have experienced the process and where the money goes. Its absolutely beautiful. I believe in St. Baldricks. And I believe that shaving my head will make a difference in a childs life.
You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!
In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
