I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team David

Hi I am the father of David Brooks who is an incredible 11 year old currently in maintenance for ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), David was diagnosed just after Thanksgiving 2009 and was partially paralyzed at the outset.

Our family is fortunate to live in the Triangle so close to UNC Children's Hospital where David has spent a great deal of time under the care of the most wonderful group of nurses on Children's 5. David is still struggling fighting this disease but continues to improve and continues to exhibit an incredibly positive attitude as he moves forward never questioning why. He has a wonderful sister Halie who has provided unwavering support and parents who are both tremendously proud of David and his sister yet saddened watching our son go through this fight.

David and the family have received tremendous support from friends, family, church and strangers who are now David's friends. We are blessed to have the support of dedicated compassionate physicians and staff at UNC. We desperately need your support to to enable these professionals to continue their research so that David and the many other children in treatment and yet to be diagnosed can find cure and care. We all look forward to a day when causes and preventions can be identified and put in place so that no child should have to experience the realities of pediatric cancer. Any support you can give is personally appreciated and we cannot thank you enough, Please help us with this fight by donating today.
