I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Magellan Charter School

It’s time for the 2011 St. Baldrick’s fundraiser, so Ryan & over 50 of his Magellan classmates will have their heads shaved on March 5th at Napper Tandy’s. St. Baldrick's is an organization that raises money to help find a cure for childhood cancers in a fun and innovative way. It is fun because lots of people gather to support the team members as they are having their heads shaved.

Ryan is once again participating in honor of Brennan Simkins, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia(AML) in January 2009. Brennan, a 9 year old from Augusta, GA, recently underwent his 4th bone marrow transplant at St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis. Brennan's mother, Tara Rice Simkins, went to Wake Forest with us and our family has been following his fight against this horrible disease for the past couple of years. To learn more about Brennan, join his Facebook group "Fight Cancer with Brennan Simkins."
