I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Good, The Bald, and The Ugly

This is it! We're fast approaching my favorite time of year! The time of year when I can have my head shaved and look a little bit more normal. In all seriousness, this will be my fourth year as a "shavee" in this event. And every year, I am absolutely overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. Childhood cancer is no joke. In my near fifteen years at Albany Med, I've felt joy for the kids and families of the survivors, and sorrow for the families who have lost their child. St. Baldrick's is an excellent foundation: The money raised goes to childhood cancer research facilities. Imagine, one day, this could be a disease that's completely curable. Just like anything else, it can't be done without money. And that's where you and I come in. Me: I beg all of you over the next two months to donate. Then, on April 10, I sit in a barber chair in front of hundreds of people and have some stranger shave my head bald. You: You willingly donate some money (a lot or a little, everything helps). Then, you feel good, because you know that you've helped us win the fight that I know someday we are going to win. Thank you so much for all of your help and generosity.
