I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

A few years ago, a buddy of mine showed up at work with a freshly shaved head. When I asked what happened to the full head of hair he had the day before, he said, "Someone bet me 20 bucks that I wouldn't shave my head, so I did. But you'd probably never do that, Chris, because you like your hair too much."

His comment hit me out of the blue, because I've never been overly concerned with how my hair looks. (No, really. Honest.) In any case, his jab always stuck with me... until this year, when I decided to do something worthwhile.

I'm going to shave my head as a show of solidarity with kids who typically lose their hair during cancer treatment.

It's my small part in helping to raise critical funds for childhood cancer research. Unfortunately, in the US, more children die of cancer than any other disease.

So, if the thought of my inevitable chrome-dome makes you giggle, smirk, or think "He won't really do it, will he?" (I will, and there'll be video), please make a donation on my behalf to help support childhood cancer research. You can either donate by clicking "Make A Donation" (on the left under that picture of my goofy mug) or you can donate by mail or phone.

Thanks a ton for your support. Truly.

Oh, and did I mention that I've decided that for every $500 I raise, I've decided to keep my head shaved for an extra two weeks? So, spread the word. See if y'all can keep me bald for a few months! Thanks again.
