I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues,
I am going bald again next month for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a charity that raises money to research cures for cancers that strike children.
My eighth date with the St. Baldrick's barber's chair is fast approaching: Friday, March 11, at Fado's Irish Pub, 100 W. Grand Ave. in Chicago.
While this may seem like a drastic way to deal with a nasty cowlick, it actually helps save the lives of children battling cancer. Losing my hair is part of the annual St. Baldrick's Day fundraiser, in which men and women volunteer nationwide to shave their heads and raise pledges of financial support for cancer research. The head shaving displays solidarity with kids who have cancer, many of whom lose their hair during chemotherapy treatments.
Please consider an online donation of whatever size your budget allows and know that I will be grateful for your support. You can donate to St. Baldrick's directly on my shavee web site:
http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/pwinston2011
One day, my hairline will recede to the point that shaving the rest seems as pointless as putting lipstick on a pig. But not yet! Until then, I'll keep making use of this renewable resource and raise funds for sick kids in need.
As always many thanks for your support!
Paul
