I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Alston & Bird LLP

Last year marked the 10th year of St. Baldrick's history. For an event which started out in 2000 to raise $ 17,000 on March 17th for children's cancer research, it has distributed a staggering $ 56,935,153 in grants to medical researchers over the last 5 years alone. As we all know, before treatments can be approved for use they must first be tested in trial groups, the data and results then collected and processed and finally the findings presented. As you might imagine the costs for these medical professionals, test drugs and treatments as well as necessary equipment can be substantial. In a time where medical institutions struggle to remain profitable, funding for these types of programs often become the victim of budget cuts. Our ability to continue to raise funding for this necessary and worthwhile cause is critical to the survival of those children who battle cancer on a daily basis. As always, I appreciate whatever contributions you can make so that together we can make a difference.
