I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: 96rock/Hibernian

You heard it right!!!! In the United States, approximately 10,000 children under age 15 are diagnosed with cancer each year and about 1,500 children will die from this disease. Having been a Pediatric Clinical Scientist I have seen first hand the effects of this disease on some of the most wonderful children. Over the past 20 years the rates of all forms of invasive cancer have increased from 11.5 cases per 100,000 children in 1975 to 14.8 in 2004. The cause of childhood cancers remain largely unknown, environmental factors and genetic mutations have all been identified as risk factors. A significant amount of research is needed to understand the causes and more importantly treatments of pediatric cancer. I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer who more than often lose their hair during treatment, and also raising critical funds for further research into childhood cancers. Please make a donation on my behalf to support this worthy cause .To make a donation, click on "Make A Donation" or donate by mail or phone.
Thank you for your support! neil PS Alli does not want me to lose my hair - she says you better bid high if you are hoping to deprive her of my lovely mane !
