I do this in memory of Christopher Ramsey. Christopher Ramsey was a rambunctious 4 year old boy. He loved to play baseball, go bowling and ride his 4 wheeler. Some of his favorite things in life were the Yankees, Shrek and his family. Christopher could lite up a room with his beautiful smile and gorgeous eyes. He loved to joke and have fun. He loved to play with his sister Payten, listen to the song Footloose and cruise around in his Aunt's Jeep with the top down. Unfortunately Christopher was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma on February 1, 2007. He went through 6 rounds of strong chemotherapy, 2 surgeries (including the removal of the tumor), countless blood and platelet transfusions, many diagnostic tests and numerous other procedures. Christopher also had to go through a bone marrow transplant. On July 12, 2007 we went to Boston to start the transplant. Christopher endured many complications from the high doses of chemo he had to get to wipe out his bone marrow so that the new bone marrow could grow. After 3 horrible weeks in the Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's Hospital Christopher lost his battle. He died from complications of the transplant. I cannot begin to tell you the devastation and heartbreak that we felt and surely still feel today. Anything you could donate to save other children and families from the pain we feel would be greatly appreciated. These children should not have to fight so hard to stay alive.
