I’m going to do something pretty extreme, and I’m asking for your support. I’m going to have my head shaved at a St. Baldrick’s Foundation event on 18th March 2011 at Bermuda Athletic Association.
With my bald head, I’ll stand in solidarity with kids being treated for cancer. But that’s not the main reason. Most important, I’m doing this to raise money for life-saving research. I am not doing this as a fashion statement, I am no G.I. Jane, and I realise that after the event I will probably resemble my baby boy in the picture more than I would like to! But my vanity is a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of things.
Please make a donation on my head, and come watch me and others “shaving the way to conquer kids’ cancer!” This is a fun way to do something very important.
You will be able to follow my fundraising progress, and before and after photos right here on my personal webpage on the St. Baldrick’s website. Please also take the time to read some of the kids' stories on the website as it will give you a greater understanding for why I am doing what I am doing and why YOUR contribution really matters.
You can count on this donation being used responsibly. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
In 2010 alone, they gave over $14 million – that’s more in grants for childhood cancer research than any other organization except the U.S. government. And all because nearly 38,000 people shaved their heads!
To make a donation, click on "Make A Donation" or to me in person with cash if you prefer. This really means a lot to me and I will be super grateful for even the smallest donation from the farthest corner of the world. I have 3 months left to enjoy my hair, and that gives you plenty of time to make a donation - or two or three! Please also consider sending the link to my webpage to anyone you may think is in a charitable mood. And who isn't at this time of year?
Thank you so much for your support!
