When I first heard about St. Baldricks I remember thinking to myself, "I'd never have the courage to do that". As the thought passed over me I was struck with the realization that there are so many children in this world, battling cancer, who would certainly opt to be hairless 100 times over if it meant they would be cancer-free. Brave are these children who fight so hard every day against what can feel like insurmountable odds.
Armed now, with their courage in my heart, I will set aside my vanities and do my best to raise as much money for them as I possibly can. Please help me to give this foundation the funding they need to give these kids a fighting chance at having a long, fulfilling life.
I will also be donating my hair to a charity specializing in wigs for children with medical hair loss from chemotherapy treatments and/or alopecia areata. If you haven't quite found your courage for bald, consider that pixie cuts are in! If you are inspired to be a shavee along with me, then let's get bald friends!
