There are many charities doing great work and worthy of donations. To me, it's a matter of selecting those charities that touch my heart. What moves me is the endurance that kids with cancer have to have in order to live with pain and poking and treatments and hospitals. Their lives are far from ordinary, but if they're surrounded by supportive family and friends, with access to the most promising treatment coming from ground-breaking research, then they have a chance. Shaving my head in an open forum and soliciting donations on behalf of kid's cancer research is a great way to show solidarity with kids and help find a cure.
