I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Renner aka Team Alicia

Hello Everyone, I know that last year I said that it was the last year I was getting my head shaved, but everyone knows that you can't trust an Irishman... So, I’m getting my head shaved again this year for the following 10 reasons…. 1) I’m unemployed, and I have nothing else to do… 2) I’m a cheap Irishman, and it’s a good way to get a cheap haircut… 3) It’s easier to panhandle when you look the part… 4) Fado’s is a well-known hangout for chicks cruising for old bald guys (Just kidding Trina)… 5) I plan to run the marathon this year and by shaving off my trademark thick black mane I calculated that I should shave at least 30 minutes off my race time… 6) By not having any hair I also calculated that I should save approximately 5 cents a day on shampoo… 7) If short hair’s good enough for Uncle Fester it’s good enough for me… 8) Life’s too short to waste on long hair… I have no idea what that means? 9) It’s a good way to get rid of head lice… 10) Again, I’m unemployed and I have nothing else to do… But the main reason I’m shaving my head again is that the St. Baldrick's event is just too good of a charity NOT to participate in and I couldn't let my brother, nephews, and nieces, especially my niece Alicia down. If you remember from past St. Baldrick’s e-mails Alicia was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma 3 years ago, and 2-years ago she had a Stem Cell transplant. The good news is that Alicia’s latest scan results came back with No Evidence of Disease (NED). Alicia still has a ways to go, and when they did the CT scans and MRI they determined that she broke her wrist when she fell back in January and may have broken her ankle as well due to her weakened bones. But, both breaks are healing well and Alicia said that she doesn’t have to go back to the doctor’s office for two months as long as she doesn’t fall and break anything else. Even with all the adversity that Alicia has gone through the past 3-years she is on schedule to graduate in June and plans on attending college during the summer at Wright College by her house, and then the University of Illinois in the fall if everything works out! Our Team (Team Alicia) is shaving our heads next Friday March 12 at Fado in downtown Chicago at 100 west Grand around 5:00 PM (On Friday I’ll e-mail the exact time) - so please join us if you can - and please donate if you can! Sincerely, A lying Irishman…
