I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hi, my name is Jake. I am a Junior at Brother Rice High School and I am participating in St. Baldrick's annual fundraising event. My grandma is currently undergoing treatment for malignant melanoma and this is my way of showing my support for her fight while supporting children with cancer. It is important for me to support my gram because while I was a child, she supported me through 9 surgeries for hydrocephalus; every surgery required that a portion of my head or my entire head was shaved. For each surgery, I received a "special battle scar." I'm really looking forward to showing them off. When my gram sees my shaved head, she will remember how brave I have been and she will want to fight even harder. Please help me towards raising my goal of $1,000.00. I really appreciate your support as do the children who benefit from the contributions of St. Baldricks Foundation. Thanks, Jake
