I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I am shaving my head! I know what you must be thinking about now; he’s lost his mind. I have been met with many comments already such as; your head will get cold, you might have to wear a hat to bed, are you sure, how are you going to sell with no hair, and most commonly are you CRAZY? I assure you I am not crazy, but I am ambitious. I am teaming up with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to raise funds exclusively dedicated to cancer research. St. Baldrick’s is one of the largest all volunteer run charities with the mission of supporting pediatric cancer research. In its 10th year of operation St. Baldrick’s has raised over $70 million dollars for research, grants, and support of some of the brightest minds in medicine. In fact they offer more research grants than any other organization outside of the U.S. Government. I have seen friends and family go through the painful process of battling cancer and have witnessed first hand the hardships they and their families endured. I am dedicating my efforts to two close friends, Bertie and Shirley, in honor of their battle with cancer. Here is where my ambition comes in. I am late in the game and need your help! I have established a goal to raise more than $2000 in just under three weeks. I am asking anyone interested to please help support me in my effort to reach the ultimate goal of finding a way to prevent children from suffering through this illness. I know the economy is challenging, but please consider even a small donation. Your help is important and much appreciated. In return for your generosity; I will be shaving my head on March 13 in solidarity with those children affected with cancer. That St. Patrick’s Day weekend has always been one of my favorite and thanks to your help it will certainly bear much more meaning this year. Feel free to join us at the event if you can make it!
