I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: We Love U Viva Valeria

On February 14,2009 there was an amazing family, 4 kids a mom and a dad who moved to Roosevelt Island. 3 boys and a girl, named Valeria Reyes. Very quickly Valeria, Danielle (our other best friend), and I bonded and snap we were best friends right away. We would have great times together playing during the summer, singing and dancing at home. Things happened so fast, we learned that Valeria was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005, Danielle and I had to adapt to the environment around her. We had to find different things to play and do, it was not too hard but rather easy. I realized that anyone can be friends with a cancer patient. All you have to do is try. After that year with Valeria I got to know an amazing woman named Barbara. She works with the NY Candlelighters and St. Baldricks Foundations. It was like another, snap, I got to be friends with Barbara. She showed me that you can be friends with the cancer patients and you can find hope, too. After November 20, 2009 when my BFF Valeria passed away, I got more and more in interested in Barbra and the foundations. She had told me what she was doing with the foundation and I had asked her how I can help. We kept in touch and Barbra had told me that on February 11,2010 she was working on a party for the kids. She asked if I wanted I could go and meet these kids. So I did. It was amazing, many of these kids had smiles on their faces and that's what made my day. It was crazy how many of these kids either had cancer or still have it. During that time I met a new friend her name was Sofia, she was already friends with Valeria and with Danielle. She was a patient too, yet again, another snap of friendship. All because of Valeria and it was amazing. I still think of Valeria, one little girl with such a big smile, and such a big heart. Who brought together all these people and made them all HAPPY! 
