I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: City of Syracuse Firefighter's Family and Friends

I've never had much hair, so my before and after photo won't shock you. That's not the reason I decided to sign up for the St. Baldrick's Foundation... Two of the toughest men I've ever known in my life have been diagnosed with cancer. My grandfather was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away over 10 years ago. He was a man that I never had a chance to really get to know. Apart from my father he was one of the only other men that I felt I had to prove myself to. A WWII vet and a loving grandfather, I cherish the days I was lucky enough to spend with him and wish he could see me today. My Uncle was diagnosed with liver cancer almost 2 years ago. The prognosis wasn't good from the beginning and it has been a struggle to come to terms with seeing the toughest Uncle I know go through what he has had to endure. The tough, funny, crazy uncle that I grew up to know and love has been torn apart by this disease. I would give up anything to have him back as the Uncle I used to know. I would hate to see anyone, let alone, a child go through what my family members have had to endure. No one person or family deserves to go through the pain and suffering associated with cancer and that is why I am joining the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Curing this disease and giving children a chance at a long fulfilling life is what I am signing up for. .
