I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Tipperary Hill

Dear Friends, I am shaving my head this year to help raise money for helping children with cancer. This is a cause that is close to my heart as my son Colin is 8 years cancer free!! He was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma-a very rare bone cancer at age 7. As a result, he lost part of his right femur and knee to amputation. Remarkably, he uses a prosthesis, and loves to play lacrosse and snowboard. Those are a few of the things he does, and as he says himself and I quote, " I live life without limitations". True words from a kid who knows all about what cancer can do. He is 16 years old and physically doing very well. He is an excellent student in school and an excellent son!! I also had a good friend by the name of Andrew Sleeth. Andrew had a rare blood disease and is missed dearly by his family and friends. I am shaving my head in honor of my son Colin and in memory of my friend Andrew. As a parent, I have seen the toll it has on the child especially, but also the whole family. The St. Baldrick's foundation is a call for everyone to help this tremendous cause and hopefully find as many cures with this money as possible. Survival rates are improving but, people need to hear that the cancer they have is 100% curable, and not any number less. I am part of team Tipperary Hill, which features my son, my 85 year old mother, 56 year old brother, 54 year old sister, 3 nephews and many of their friends. If you can, please help this cause and donate what you can. The kids will appreciate it for sure. Phil
