I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dear Deans, Faculty, Family, and Friends, We often take life's miracles and blessings for granted. Our busy schedules have us running from one place to another without detrimental moments of pause and reflection for the things we should truly be thankful - our health, happiness, aspirations, friends, family, etc. I am writing you today because there are less fortunate children that need our help. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 10,730 new cases are expected to occur among children aged 0-14 years in 2010. While mortality rates for childhood cancer have declined throughout the years, much work needs to be done in order to prevent any parent from ever hearing "your child has cancer." I am writing to ask for your help, compassion, and support in donating to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. I am shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment and ask that you please consider donating to this worthy cause. You'll be doing a great thing to help raise critical funds for childhood cancer research and all donations are tax-deductible! Please make a donation to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated. Here is the link to the donation page: https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/sebastian Thank you for your time and consideration.
