I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: DAWSON'S HAIRLESS HEROES

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: DAWSON'S HAIRLESS HEROES

The time has come for me to be bald again. Big thanks to all who donated on my head last year. I had set a goal of $1000 and raised almost $1700. This year I will once again be on the team, DAWSON'S HAIRLESS HEROS, the event will be at Helen Fitzgerald's on March 6th. Come cheer me on. Dawson (if you do not know the story ) was the son of dear friends of mine, Paula Pence, Ivanouski, John Ivanouski, and brother to Delayne Ivanouski, they lost Dawson to cancer in 2007. During this time, there were no words that I can say to make the pain go away for my friends . There was no mercurial cure that I could offer my friends. There were no hoops I could jump thru for my friends. I felt helpless. Now, the least I can do for my friends, is support them in their attempt to try to fight this horrible disease by shaving my head, and try to raise money for research to find a cure. This way, maybe, just maybe other families do not have to go thru the pain and heart ache my friends go thru every day. It use to be if you had cancer, that was it. Now due to research that funds come from donations, a lot of types of cancer are curable. Last year on the stage they sold seeds of happiness for $20 per seed. We sold out in minutes (people who carry their own personal seeds were pulling them out of their pockets and purses and donating them to the cause. (this brought tears to my eyes). This year I have made special edition seeds of happiness for the event, and this year I will have a lot more of them. Lets try to make a difference so other families do not have to go thru the pain that Paula, John, and Delayne have to inure every day. Please pass this e mail on to anyone that might help. Thank you with all of my heart, and smiles to all Mark
