I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

On Monday, March 17th (St. Patrick's Day, of course), I will be participating in an event for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization that helps to raise money for children's cancer research. This organization was founded by three Wall Street executives in 1999 as an incredibly easy, but effective, way to raise money towards this cause. Last year, they raised over $12 million and have raised over $34 million since inception. See the link below for more information. www.stbaldricks.org Now for the twist. In order to raise money, I, along with thousands of other participants, will have my head shaved at 2 PM at Jim Brady's Pub on Maiden Lane. The founders of this organization came up with this idea as a way of showing support for kids who lose their hair to chemotherapy. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Not those locks!". But this is such an easy way to help raise money - and my hair grows quickly anyway! Although I hate to think of what these eyebrows will look like when I'm bald. Why am I doing this? Why not? It's too easy not to. And it is also to honor two sets of people: - my godfather, Charlie Shaw, one of the coolest cats I know - my five beautiful nieces, who I pray never need to deal with this issue If you can donate toward this cause, please see the link below. I have no idea how much I might raise, but I know I'll raise something - and that's pretty much all that matters. Feel free to come by Jim Brady's Pub at 2 PM on St. Patty's Day to watch (link also below). I promise to send an after pic when it's all done.
