I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: XL Group

For a number of years I have had the pleasure of watching many friends raise money for the St. Baldricks Foundation by shaving their heads to support kids with cancer. I have been very proud to see them help such a wonderful cause and watch it grow so dramatically over the years. I am particularly gratified by the substantial contribution towards this cause from members of the insurance and reinsurance community. This year I feel particularly compelled do do my part. Last fall I was diagnosed with a condition called Ameloblastoma, a tumor in my lower left mandible. Fortunately, it was benign and after reconstructive surgery in October, I am feeling great. I was very fortunate to have outstanding medical care from my doctors at Beth Israel Hospital in New York. In support of the kids battling this terrible disease and as a gesture of thanks to the many medical professionals I met along the way, I am pleased to participate as a "shavee" this year for St. Baldricks. My colleague Mike McGavick will be joining me as the other member of "Team XL" and we will be participating here in Bermuda on March 19. I am soliciting your financial support for this great cause and would ask that you respond as generously as you have in the past to other members of our community who have participated.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
