I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Aflac Cancer Center

My oldest son, Matthew, passed away on Mother's Day in May 2009 after a long 9-year battle against a brain tumor. He fought his disease with grace, courage and determination. I am participating in St. Baldrick's in his memory and in honor of all of the children I have met who are battling cancer, are a cancer survivor or are now an angel. This is a very small but visible way for me to make a difference in their lives. Thank you for your support. Another bit of news...since my original posting, two of Matthew's close friends have elected to participate with me and shave their heads at Fado's. Bryan and Andrew - you guys are AWESOME. It means so much to me that they want to honor Matthew's memory in this way. Matthew's cousins, Tyler, is also shaving his head in Matthew's memory in North Caroline. AND my wonderful husband, Mike, is shaving his head at his office to raise money for St. Baldrick's. We won't be the odd couple, we'll be the bald couple! I would love to have you join me at Fado's - either as a shavee or as a supportive friend.
