I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Lifeshavers

You heard it right- I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research! Last year at this time, my mother had come to me and asked for my help. Well, all I could think was "What does she need help with; Mom can usually handle things on her own." And she told me about the women at her work who had given up their hair for children with cancer, and how she wanted to do it the next year. To be completely honest, I was very hesitant on the idea and told her that I would think about it. Only a month later did I find out that a friend of mine I have now known for over ten years of my life was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She had not had a real hair cut in well over seven years and had the most beautiful hair I had ever seen on someone. Knowing that she had to give up more than her hair I thought the least I could do was give up mine. Needless to say, my mind was made up that day and I have been pumped ever since. Just remember, every dollar counts!
