I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Naked Noggins

Let me tell you about a little girl, we'll call her Megan, who was faced with a real childhood monster. She was 2 years old when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a blood cancer. She was admitted to Cardinal Glennon and underwent treatment. Every two weeks she would be admitted for her chemotherapy. Every time she came in, we knew she would go into shock, or get a bad infection as a side effect of her treatment. Megan was blessed to make it through her treatments and is now 3 years without evidence of recurrence. Wouldn't it be great if we could tell Megan that she is cured and will never have to worry about the monster again? Wouldn't it be awesome if no child ever had to go through what Megan did? It's hard to imagine anyone who has not been affected by cancer. Almost everyone has a parent, a cousin, an aunt or uncle, a sister or brother, or a child with cancer. Imagine the shock and the terror of learning your loved one has cancer. Now think of the relief you would feel if the doctor told you your loved one's cancer was treatable, or even better, curable. Fortunately, for many children their cancer is now treatable, but much work remains to be done in the search for a cure. You can help by making a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
