I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: TeamBrent

You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research! In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. To make a donation, click on "Make A Donation" or donate by mail or phone. Thank you for your support! Help pass the word along ! Please visit my website to easily be re-directed to this one at WWW.JEFFREYDOYLE.COM Thanks again for the donation and helping pass the word along. More about the event: Come on down and join the fun at the event ! VENUE: Arena at Harbor Yard (TeamBrent.com) MY TEAM: TeamBrent EVENT DATE: March 6, 2010 START TIME: 12:30 pm ADDRESS: Arena at Harbor Yard, 600 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT Join us for TeamBrent's St. Baldrick's celebration! It's a fundraiser to fight childhood cancer and it's surprisingly FUN. In these challenging economic times, cancer does not stop and your efforts go even further. Many thanks for considering the cause. The St. Baldrick's Foundation raises awareness and funds to fight childhood cancer. While battling cancer, children lose not only their hair but years of their childhood, and sometimes their lives. Participants in a St. Baldrick's event shave their heads in exchange for donations towards research. It's a simple concept, a fun time and a very effective fundraiser - since its founding in 2000, the St. Baldrick's Foundation has raised over $ 50 million with headshavings in 18 countries, and shaved over 72,000 heads. Join us at Arena at Harbor Yard for a great time: 12:30 Doors Open 1pm Opening Ceremonies, emceed by Deb Kaufman Placey 2-5pm Registration, Head Shaving & Family Fun * Head shaving by the Total Look Salons & Academy * Open skate on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers ice! Must bring your own skates * Head painting for shavees provided by Once Upon a Face Paint * Activities provided by The Little Gym of Fairfield, United Athletic Centers, Mickey Kydes Soccer & Educational Warehouse * Rock out to the band Vertigo The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are generously donating a free ticket to their March 6th 7pm game to each preregistered shavee! Friends and family may purchase additional tickets at the discounted group rate. The Sound Tigers are inviting all shavees out onto the ice during the second intermission to be recognized for their contribution to the fight against childhood cancer. Please join us for the game and give all the shavees a rousing round of applause. Let's raise awareness and money and have some fun. There is plenty of parking, plenty of space inside and a lot of fun to be had. Come get your head shaved, or just watch. Either way please do celebrate with us...and watch the hair fly! As you read this doctors are using the funds raised during last year's St. Baldrick's events to work on researching new ways to fight childhood cancer. We all rest in the shade of trees we did not plant. About TeamBrent: Southport's TeamBrent was created in 2005 to battle childhood cancer alongside 3yr old Brent. Today he is a survivor who has no recollection of his treatment - but the fight goes on. Brent is living proof that your efforts make a difference.
