The Junior Red Sox Manifesto:
We are fighting to put an end to childhood cancer. Comprised of the Moffitt & McGoey clans, we're 'going bald' together, to show our friends, family, classmates & co-workers that we are taking a stand, giving something of ourselves to make a difference.
'Going Bald' on St. Baldrick's Day is our way of showing support for the 160,000 children that will be diagnosed with cancer in 2008. That equates to 438 new children that are receiving a cancer diagnosis every single day: today, Saturday, next Thursday etc...
A cancer diagnosis does just effect the child, it effects the entire family and ultimately the entire community. Therefore it is the community that must take action to effect change.
By shaving our heads, we hope to show our community that every single one of these children matter & that we are taking a stand to 'reach the day' when every single child diagnosed with cancer is guaranteed a cure.
Thank You For Your Support!
