I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sharks With Laser Beams

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read this page. When you think beautiful hair, a few names come to mind... Romney, Edwards, Martindale... and Yuska. (No? Really, it doesn't? Oh well....) On March 8, the Yuska name will join another list of alopecic luminaries such as Brynner, Savalas, Fester, Mr. Clean and Dr. Evil. While I have always seen working to help and cure childhood cancer as one of the noblest causes, I had not had a lot of personal experience to frame the impact of these diseases. Then, in a six month span last year, three children of separate friends and co-workers were diagnosed with forms of cancer. Seeing the strength, efforts, bravery and trials of these children, along with the other children they met and passed care pages on from really made me change my perspectives on health, parenthood and the strength of love and determination. Having heard of St. Baldrick's events from a neighbor, it really struck me as something very simple to do to help raise money and support children and families impacted by cancer. The brave children dedicating to: - In Honor of Haidyn Reinhardt - In Honor of Charlie Morlock - In Memory of Cian Crowley http://www.cianscause.org These children and their families have shown what strength can emerge from adversity; what the power of love, perseverance and hope can do to change lives. If you have the means and willingness to donate, please do so - this organization is very dedicated to getting as much of the donations as possible to the children, their families and their caregivers. Personal disclaimer - I'm saying right now that I rightly understand that this may not help in the aesthetic of the world and will be sure to cover this pale dome where reflections may endanger drivers, workers, golf pros, etc. But, it could also serve as a portend of what could be if indeed my maternal grandfather's Hibernian hairline beats out the deeply-thatched Lithuanian hair from my paternal side. Many could argue (rightly so) that my pasty, pale pumpkin noggin was not meant for the light of day - I'll agree but argue that what hats are meant for (and it coincides with Spring Training - Sox Pride everyday!) Others will argue that an impending trip to Florida three weeks later might be a little dangerous for such ivory skin - I'll only say that I hope my petition for access to secret government research for SPF 5000 will process before the end of March. Thanks again for your time and support! Slainte!
