As you may have already heard, my head will be shorn of its graying locks on March 15 as I am participating in the St. Baldrick's campaign for childhood cancer research. The past few months have cast a new light on this problem for me as my life has been touched by two very young children who have had to undergo chemotherapy. Their innate strength and zeal for life is truly inspiring. I am doing this both to express my solidarity with all children who have cancer (who typically lose their hair during treatment) and to help raise critical funds for childhood cancer research. My three-year-old daughter, Kellen, insists that she, too, will have her head shaved so that her classmate and her friend will not feel so alone in losing their hair.
In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
