Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
Fighting Childhood Cancer—A Personal Mission
This year marks my 8th year participating in the St. Baldrick’s fundraiser, and this cause is deeply personal to me. Cancer has directly affected my family—both my brother and sister are survivors—and I know firsthand how life-changing research and support can be.
As a preschool teacher, I spend my days with children who are the same age as many of the kids this fundraiser helps. It’s impossible not to think about what they and their families would face if cancer entered their lives. That’s why I do this—so more children can grow up healthy, and more families can receive the hope and support they deserve.
Each year, I feel an immense sense of pride and humility as I stand alongside others on this powerful day. Seeing so many people come together—shaving their heads, sharing their stories, and uniting for a cause greater than themselves—is truly inspiring. It reminds me that while cancer is a devastating disease, the strength of a community determined to fight it is even greater.
I shave my head and raise funds to honor the kids battling today, to support the families who need hope, and to help fund the research that saves lives. St. Baldrick’s is making a real difference, and I’m proud to stand with them in this fight.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation. Every dollar brings us closer to a world where no child has to hear the words, “You have cancer.” Whether you give, share, or simply spread awareness, your support means everything. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
All my ❤️
