Almost four years ago, our lives turned upside down. No, I'm not talking about Covid. Our 18 year-old daughter Serena received a diagnosis of Stage 4 ALK+ large B cell lymphoma. After a weekend of tears and prayer, Serena took up the challenge and we all worked together on a plan. Part of that plan included contacting Mike Tucker, long-time St. Baldrick's fundraising shavee. Despite boarding a plane in 15 minutes, Mike immediately contacted key St. Baldrick's representatives who helped us find the doctors, medical trials and potential cures that ultimately saved Serena's life-truly a miracle. In 2023, Serena graduated from The Paul Mitchell School and now works at Salon Blo in Raleigh, NC. And Serena ultimately wants to give back by making high quality wigs for cancer patients.
Last year, as a 21 year-old certified hair stylist, Serena shaved my head to support St. Baldrick's. And you all helped our team raise over $70,000. That significantly helped fund cures and treatments for all childhood cancers, including one at Mass General in which Serena participates as a cancer survivor.
So, I’m again raising funds with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to support research that finds cures and safer treatments for all childhood cancers, providing hope for children and families facing this fight.
Your donation can help ensure that the next 25 years bring hope, progress, and cures. Together, we speed up the progress of saving the lives of these brave children.
Thank you for your donation!
