Hello everyone. I hope this message finds you and your families well.
Last year one of my most supportive and generous St. Baldrick’s donors passed away. He anxiously gave a donation every year and always had kind words about what I was doing for the charity. Although he had at least four forms of cancer during his life, he was never stricken with childhood cancer. Like all of you, he is a hero. My Dad was a WWII submarine veteran, and he passed away quietly a few months after his 98th birthday.
We all have personal reasons why we donate to St. Baldricks. I’ll include some facts about childhood cancer and reasons why donations are so important below, but first here are my thoughts for 2025.
***Most of us are younger to middle aged, some of you (& me) can get the early bird specials at diners. Kids born today and stricken with cancer may not even see their 10th birthday! Let’s help fund the research that gives kids with cancer a fighting chance, so they have the potential to live as long as my Dad!
Thank you very much for your support. Vinny/Vince
Some Cancer Facts and Information.
Worldwide, every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer.
In the US, 1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer will not survive.
Of those who survive, more than 99% will have had chronic health problems by age 50.
So in addition to finding cures, a lot of research is focused on preventing the lifelong damage that results from surgeries, radiation and chemotherapies given while young bodies and brains are just developing.
Even during treatment, kids face all kinds of side effects, some very uncomfortable, others life-threatening. That’s why St. Baldrick’s also funds research to improve supportive care for patients.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
