I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Mizfits

As many of you know, I'm the Captain of the Mizfits.  We're a team of beach volleyball players (and I say 'players' very loosely).  We're old and hurtin', but we've still got a lot of energy and a fun lovin' spirit.  We've been playing in the Growler Beach Volleyball Tournament for 13 years now.    The Growler is made up of 32 teams from 7 different North Raleigh pool/tennis/volleyball clubs.  We have a ton of sponsors and volunteers as well.  This year, we play July 30th, Aug 6, 13, and 20th.  For more info about the Gowler Tournament, check out the website at www.growlervolleyball.com.

Through the years, the Growler has donated over $1,100,000 to St Baldricks.  Over 200,000 last year alone.  Last year, led by Shannon and Dana, the Mizfits raised just shy of $20,000 for St Baldricks.  But 2024 is a new year and we need your help again.  Every year we always honor Mike and Becky's nephew Stephen Campbell who lost his battle with Ewing Sarcoma, but we're also honoring Sara Beth B and Zeke R.  They are both local kids who are currently battling their own cancers as well.  Click their links below for more information on their stories.   The bottom line is that if you can help St. Baldricks fund the research to help find a Cure for Childhood Cancer, please click the DONATE button above.  The video below has some footage from last year's Growler on the final night when the head shavings happen.  Come out and see us one of the 4 Tuesdays.  A $20 entry fee gets you in and you can enjoy food and drink from one of our many sponsors.   Proceeds from the tournament go to St Baldricks as well.
