I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? We have seen first-hand how childhood cancer can reshape a family's life through friends of ours who have been dealing with a cancer diagnosis for the last couple of years. Seeing my son pray for his friend Calvin at the dinner table is both heartwarming & heartbreaking, simultaneously. Seeing the strength it takes for a parent to continue functioning & keeping life "normal" for their kids while having "normal" completely redefined for themselves is awe-inspiring. If I can give up some hair & be a little uncomfortable in order to raise a few dollars that might help another 5/6 year old have a less painful or more effective treatment...I'm in! Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. The pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures. Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that. If you can help, that would be great! -CDS
