I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I choosing to stand in solidarity with the bravest little warriors by shaving my head with St. Baldrick's? My cancer journey began with my own confrontation with prostate cancer in January 2023. The whirlwind of emotions I faced was overwhelming, a stark reminder of the unimaginable challenges faced by children battling cancer.

In the U.S., an alarming statistic stands out: 1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer will not make it. While adult cancer research receives significant funding from governments and foundations, childhood cancer research desperately needs more support. This is where St. Baldrick's Foundation steps in, striving to bridge this critical funding gap.

The impact of St. Baldrick's Foundation is undeniable. Since its inception, the 5-year survival rate for childhood cancers has improved from just over 79% to an encouraging 85%. My own journey to remission has filled me with gratitude and a resolve to help these children achieve the same chance at a cure. Each donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to a future where every child can triumph over cancer.

This is why on Saturday, 4/26, at 7:00 PM, during a special ComedySportz® match, I will shave my head in a gesture of support for local children fighting this harsh battle. My goal is to raise $1,000, but with your help, we can surpass this target. The need has never been greater, and your support can make a real difference.

Will you join me in this crucial fight? Your generosity not only honors these young heroes but also fuels the research that will one day end childhood cancer for good. Let's give these children the future they deserve.
