I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

The St. Baldrick's events my family and I have taken part in over the years have been wonderful experiences. The work done by the organizers to raise money to help fund pediatric cancer research has been outstanding, and it is time to do it again. My son, Joey Lopez Egan, is one of the honored children the event will be recognizing this year. Joey passed away in 2008 following a bout with cancer and even though he is not physically with us, his spirit lives on in our hearts. Joey is one of a number of children honored at the event put on by the Franklin Park Fire Department. Several of the children such as Joey are recognized as angels, while others either continue their battle or have managed to overcome it. The bravery of these children cannot be overstated, which is why St. Baldrick's efforts to help raise money for pediatric cancer research is so inspiring. The work done by St. Baldrick's is tremendous and has been successful thanks to the generosity of people giving of their time, talent and money. If you can, please make a donation to this wonderful organization to help continue the fight against cancer in the hopes of one day finding a cure.
