I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Every year since 2013 I have had friends in Las Vegas shave my head for St. Baldrick's. We are at it again. We support and celebrate the campaign with an all-star show co-starring dozens of Las Vegas singers at The Space, off the Strip on Polaris Road and Cavaretta Court, at 7 p.m. St. Patrick's Day. We do this to raise awareness and generate money for this favorite, noble cause.

St. Baldrick's was launched more than 25 years ago nationwide with an event n Manhattan. The campaign took off in Las Vegas in 2007, when Lynn and Brian McMullan of McMullan's Irish Pub started their shaving events to honor their 2-year-old daughter, Kyra, who died of brain cancer.  In the years since, about $13 million has been raised in several annual events in Las Vegas. This year more than $210,000 was raised at "Brave a Shave" at New York-New York's Brooklyn Bridge, outside Nine Fine Irishmen.
