Back again! This will be my 9th time "Braving the Shave"! And the first event for me since 2021 and the dreaded lock downs. A lot had changed for me but my love of working with St Baldricks has not!
Do you know, why I started working with St Baldricks? The truth is, it's part my grandmother, who passed away from cancer and part my kids. I love kids! They are the best! Fun and inquisitive. Loud and curious. Creative and surprising. And I've learned that 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive. And of those who do survive, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50. Those numbers are tear jerking to me. I wanted to do something about it. I heard about an event at a local pub where the local firefighters were shaving their heads. There were cheers. And laughter and praise. Then there were the children directly effected by the charity of my community and St Baldricks working together. I had to join.
Once again, I will be collecting donations to help fund research to fight childhood cancer as well as donating these 3 year long locks to another charity that will make my donated hair into a wig and give it to children that have lost it are losing their hair due to undergoing treatment while fighting their battle against cancer.
I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Please, donate to the cause! Hello me attain my goal of $2500. Help us conquer kids' cancer!
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve.
Thank you for your support!
