I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

One of my best friends and roommates, Sloane MacBride, decided she was going to run the Eugene Half Marathon this Spring. When she mentioned it to me, I started to think it would be a fun achievement to do as well.

Being the selfless person Sloane is, she also looked into the "Run for a Reason" charity initiative that the Eugene Marathon provides. Essentially, this initiative allows the participant to raise money for a charity of their choice instead of just paying the entry fee. Instead of fundraising for any charity, Sloane contacted St. Baldrick's to get them added to "Run for a Reason."

St. Baldrick's has done a lot for Sloane's family friends and has proven to be an amazing foundation to combat kids' cancer. Supporting St. Baldrick's and helping raise money for kids with cancer seems like an amazing opportunity that I am grateful to pair with my first half marathon. Please consider donating to help kids fight cancer and support a caring and passionate foundation.
