A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research
This July marks 34 years(how is that even possible I'm only 39!!) that I've been working at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital on the same unit, pediatric hematology oncology kids....In May of 2023 I made a change to work with the same group of kids but in the outpatient setting. Seeing them come in for treatment then go home is a different perspective. So....in honor of that.....I'm doing it again!!! For those who didn't know me 4 years ago, I shaved my head for St Baldrick's! This will be my 3rd shave. In my 34 years I can't even come close to knowing how many kids my hands have touch....but I do know how many of their lives have touched my heart, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! I am honoring as many as I could find on the St Baldrick's site, if I missed any that are on there please let me know but even if I haven't listed them, I promise you i/we haven't forgot them & I'm doing this is on March 8th in honor of them, every single one that has made me who I am today!
It's a fact, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 2 minutes!
!I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Please feel free to donate as well as share my page....have a wonderful day!
