What could possibly be more important than saving the life of a child?
I first got involved with St Baldrick's in 2005, shortly after my daughter Jennifer was diagnosed with a very rare variation of Ewings Sarcoma. Jennifer was a dynamic spirit, passionate fundraiser and committee member of the Northport St Baldrick's team. Sadly the science did not yet exist to save her from this evil disease.and we lost her in 2010.
In the years following I have shaved my head several times in honor of Jennifer's spirit and memory. In 2021 I did double duty by shaving a 16" length of hair from my head and donating it for someone in need. This year I'm once again back as a committee volunteer helping raise critical research dollars for St Baldrick's to advance the science needed to conquer childhood cancer
This year, the Northport St Baldrick's event will be held on March 9th, which coincides with Jennifer's Birthday. It makes for a bittersweet day knowing were helping others in her memory
Thanks to all of you who were kind enough to make a donation to my "hair" in years past. This year its fully grown-out and I'm hoping you will continue to "grow" your support in 2024! Your donations mean a lot; they help to support the research grants provided by St Baldrick's to find new and better treatments for children battling cancer AND they help me to honor Jennifer's memory.
Please help me and St Baldrick's "Conquer Kids cancer" with a donation in any amount you can afford. Thank You!
