This will be my first time attending a St. Baldrick's event. This is something that I have been interested in since I heard about it on the radio a few years ago. I usually kept my hair cut pretty short, but it has gotten away from me this year. I was ready to chop it about Thanksgiving. I had the clippers out and ready to shave away. As I was looking in the mirror, I remembered about St. Baldrick's and their head-shaving events. I put the clippers down and Googled their site. I thought, "What the heck? It is only a couple of months away. I can wait.". I was finally at a time in my life, financially and with enough hair to actually shave, to participate in one of their events. I selected one of their local events and signed up to be a shavee.
It turned out it was more than a couple of months. I am ready to get rid of this mop on top of my head.
I am hoping that you will take some time to read this and to look over the website. This should be something that we all can get behind and possibly help out kids who may be having a rough start of life.
Thank you,
Jay
A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
