At the end of this is all the "official" information about why we do what we do, but allow me to put my personal spin on it first. We all know cancer is bad. We all have experience with loved ones and cancer. It sucks. Fuck Cancer, 100%. There is a big difference between adult cancer and childhood cancer.
Most people don't realize how little research there is into treating childhood cancer. Kids with cancer receive the same dosages of treatment, usually, that adults do. Most of us have seen the effects of this on adults. Imagine what it does to kids.
I don't remember precisely where or what I was doing when I heard the news about Brayden, but I remember the feeling in my stomach. I'm sure it was nothing compared to his parents. But that first year is when I learned what I mentioned above. These kids are WARRIORS. Everyone that fights cancer is brave, don't get me wrong.
I am, once again, honored and humbled to be asked to help fight this fight. Anything you can spare is more appreciated than you will ever know.
Now the "official" stuff:
Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because with your donation “on my head,” together, we can save lives.
Research is hope for kids with cancer, but donations to find cures have been down since 2020.
Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants.
Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you!
