Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?

Cancer is the leading cause of childhood death in America…Children’s Lives Depend on our Support.


For the past four years I have been emphasizing "Childhood Cancer—two words that should never be spoken in the same breath!"   The rates of childhood cancers (from infancy to 19) have risen every year for the past decade or more. It is a global problem. Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes – that’s 300,000 kids every year! This is not acceptable. While still considered rare, cancer is the leading cause of childhood death in America.


2024 marks the St. Baldrick Foundation’s 25th Anniversary and my 11th year of participation in their events.  Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.

Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
