As many of you know, my daughter, Taylor, fought a rare and serious illness that began from the strep virus. She had six surgeries to date and was septic and had toxic blood. She is doing great now, but as always we still need to be extra cautious. It is the toughest and scariest thing we’ve ever dealt with, but she is so strong and courageous. I know we will get through this, as a family.
It is so upsetting to us to think that there are other families going though similar things, or things even much worse. Having a child in a hospital for a month really makes you see a lot and gives you a new perspective. I figured that if my daughter can fight her illness with such strength and other children can fight their illnesses so courageously, that surely, I could shave my head to help their cause. Kids are so incredibly resilient, but they still need our help. I need your help. Please help me stomp out childhood cancer. I am honored to be able to raise money for such a good cause.
A message from my daughter:
“Hi everyone. There are a lot of kids who are a lot sicker than me. I was in a hospital for a very long time and I know it’s not fun. Being sick is awful. Please help my daddy so he can help kids who are really sick. If I am healthy enough, I want to be the one to shave off all of Daddy’s red hair! Thank you. Love, Taylor”
