I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Knights of Columbus 3788

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives. I am very familiar with cancer. In 1995 I was diagnosed with late-stage Testicular Cancer. I was receiving chemo in both arms for 4 weeks and I had two weeks off between each course, during which I received one dose of chemo. My cancer spread to my lymph nodes, so they did a retroperitoneal lymph node dissection to remove the cancerous lymph nodes. A short time after this, I was I was waiting for my turn for CT scans, and I noticed that my right foot was going to sleep, but it didn't stop when the numbness kept going up my leg I called for a nurse, she asked me some questions, and the next thing I knew, I woke up in intensive care. Apparently, I had a brain tumor which was a metastisis that came from the original cancer; it was not brain cancer. So, I received chemo, and radiation therapy to my head. The one thing that made me cry was when I saw a two-or-three-year-old being pulled by the parents in a wagon leaving the radiation center. I thought, "A child so young shouldn't have to be dealing with this. It's just not right. Myself, I am a 27-year cancer survivor. Thank you, Lord!
