I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

My niece, Lauren, was diagnosed on October 11, 2003 with Wilm's tumor bilaterally at the age of 14 months. She began chemotherapy immediately, and on March 9, 2004, she had a left-total and a right-partial nephrectomy. This means the surgeon removed her entire left kidney and one-third of her right kidney. She continued chemotherapy with her final treatment on May 8, 2004. Luckily, Lauren has been cancer-free since her final treatment. My sister and brother-in-law met many families that were not as fortunate as ours. I am shaving my head for my niece, my family, and the other families that have endured this hardship in their lives.
