I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because with your donation “on my head,” together, we can save lives.

Recently, my best friend Kate O’Halloran was diagnosed with Pleuroplumonary Blastoma, a very rare type of cancer with characteristics of Rhabdoysarcoma. Kate is the 10th child in the world with this diagnosis and unfortunately, she is not the only one in her household who’s gone through this experience.
Kate’s younger sister Kristen is a childhood cancer survivor as she was diagnosed at the age of 1, with Neuroblastoma, a very aggressive cancer, and another very rare type of cancer.

Along with those two who have been a large part of my teenage life, also comes in another childhood cancer survivor in Luke Lang, one of my brothers closest friends and one of mine as well. When Luke was younger, in elementary school at age 6, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Luke fought and fought and won his battle, and now, it’s time I honor those who have had such an impact on my life with shaving my head and raising the most amount of money possible!
Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you and together, let’s kick cancers butt!
