I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives.

Wow.. it’s been 16 years since I became involved with St Baldricks Foundation. My personal journey began 16 yrs ago when my younger sister was diagnosed with cancer and when her hair loss began, I shaved my head with hesitation. A friend of mine who organizes events for St Baldricks asked if I’d like to become involved, and I haven’t stopped since. Fast forward a few yrs later, my brother in law is diagnosed, again… my hair comes off.

After seeing what they went through it always makes me think of being a child… a child who will not go through the simple ups and downs of life , a child who’s only mission is to survive… to continue on.

And all the while… laughing, dreaming, playing, aspiring, while going through the biggest and most important battle of their young lives.

So I ask you again this year… help me in funding research to prevent and hopefully cure childhood types of cancer.

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you so much!
