I am back again getting ready to shave my head for pediatric cancer research on April 6th. In all likelihood, year 14 will be my final year. So, I really want to go big this final year. I have been so proud to be a part of this organization and watching so many students step up and take part in this themselves. I really felt like something so important to me, took on a life of its own. This year, our LCMR event will be in memory of Maura Olivero. Maura shaved her head each year of high school and proved to be one of our top donation earners of all time. Sadly, Maura lost her own life after a battle with her mental health. We will celebrate her buoyant and generous personality. We are also honoring Braden Brojakowski for the courage and strength he has shown in his battle with cancer. Braden continues to inspire everyone around him.
So, onto the numbers. The best year we have ever had was 2019 raising $20,697. I would like to go out on top exceeding that number. Currently LCMR's grand total is $297,610 and my personal amount raised is $139, 328. Lets see how high we can drive those numbers.
So I leave you with the words of H Jackson Brown Jr. “Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more." Here is a perfect opportunity to increase your happiness.
Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because with your donation “on my head,” together, we can save lives.
Research is hope for kids with cancer, but donations to find cures have been down since 2020.
Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants.
Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you!
